It is Never Too Late - Accomplishing Goals Never Stops

July 30, 2019

Confessions of a Maturing Baby Boomer
Accomplishing Goals Never Stops #4

Last Saturday, I met a specific goal for myself that I would like to share. First, achieving goals does not end as you mature. I did it!

I crossed off this item on my list of things I want to do before I die. Today I took a class and test, Concealed Weapons Permit class (CWP), to receive a license to carry a concealed weapon in SC.   It was an all-day class with a written test and target test. I passed and will obtain a 5-year permit in a few months after the background check. This successful experience speaks well of my younger days in Missouri, where I learned how to use a 22 Long Rifle.

No, I do not want to carry a gun. That was not my intent. Yes, I know how to handle and fire a weapon. I wanted to learn how it all works and what are some of the rules. Passing this test has been an enriching experience that I plan to share with others. There were many observations about people and their guns. This fact I do know for sure, nobody is giving up their weapons.

All Baby Boomers have aches and pains, highs and lows, but many of us try to move forward.  My Arthritis started fussing while sitting in an uncomfortable chair most of the day, but I did it. It was not easy, but I did it!

So fellow Boomers and you other generations who may read this, please, please understand: The first lesson from this experience is you never stop accomplishing goals. What do you want to accomplish?
